General Requirements
Registration Requirements for Postgraduate Program in UGM
Applicants who meet the requirements below, can apply to be a Master program candidate in the same field of study which is in line with their Bachelor field of study or other fields of study approved by the Program Coordinator:
- Having an original diploma. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited Study Program relevant to the Masters program;
For international graduates, they must have a diploma equalization document from the Ministry of Research and Higher Education.
- Has an original transcript;
- Have a Cumulative Grade Point Average*) at the undergraduate level or equivalent, with the following criteria:
- ≥ 2.50 on a scale of 4 or equivalent, for applicants graduating from an A-accredited study program, or; ≤
- ≥ 2.75 in scale 4 or equivalent, for applicants graduating from a B-accredited study program, or;
- ≥ 3.00 in scale 4 or equivalent, for applicants graduating from of a C-accredited study programs.
- Have a study program accreditation certificate at undergraduate level or equivalent, with the following conditions:
- The accreditation of the study program is the current accreditation and proven by the results of the accreditation certificate document scan or print screen of an accreditation information from the current BAN-PT page.
- The Study Program whose accreditation is in the process of being extended is proven by the receipt of the accreditation form submission to the DIKTI (Ministry of Research and Higher Education), not a certificate from the relevant university.
- For international applicants, proof of accreditation is the Diploma Equalization Document from the Ministry of Research and Higher Education.
If the accreditation document is invalid, the application will not be processed.
- Has Potential Academic Ability as evidenced by a minimum score of 450*) that is still valid, including:

- Academic Potential Ability Test (TKPA), click here for a sample certificate.
*) For the even semester 2018/2019 (transition period), applicants who already have the above certificate may use it for admission.
- Having English language skills as evidenced by the minimum score (which is still valid) as follows:

- International English Testing System (IELTS) from institutions recognized by the IDP, click here for a sample certificate. *
- Internet-Based (iBT) TOEFL from institutions recognized by IIEF, click here for a sample certificate. *
- TOEFL Institutional Testing Program (ITP) from an institution recognized by IIEF, click here for a sample certificate. *
- Test of English Proficiency (TOEP) from the Indonesian Test Service Center (PLTI) recognized by the DIKTI for lecturer certification, click here for a sample certificate.

*) For the even semester 2018/2019 (transition period), applicants who already have the above certificate may use it for admission.
- Confidential recommendations from 2 (two) people who know prospective students at the previous level of education. Academic Supervisors and/or other people deemed to be authorized, for example the employer of the prospective student. The link to provide recommendations online will be sent by the UGM admission staff to the recommendations via email. Make sure the recommendation recipient’s email address is a valid and active email address.
- Health certificate from a hospital, health center or clinic that has permission from the government / private sector.
- Special requirements:
- Projection of prospective students in participating in the Masters Program including, among other things, the topic plan/interest in research as well as the reasons and expectations of participating in the chosen program, research topic plan, and plan after finishing the course (the format can be downloaded here)
- Thesis research proposal/ essay writing/other specific requirements required by the study program do not need to be uploaded but sent directly to the study program attached with a copy of proof of registration.
